Los Merengues attacker Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to supporters for his conduct when replaced in the recent heated El Clasico victory.

Vinicius was replaced in the second half and displayed his disappointment by heading directly off the pitch.

Vinicius later returned to the dugout and, after his side's 2-1 victory, attempted to approach Barça's opposing player during unpleasant final whistle incidents.

"This day I want to express regret to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was replaced in the Clasico," the player posted on his account.

"Just as I have said in person during this morning's training, I also want to say sorry once more to my teammates, the club, and the club president.

"At times passion takes over me because I continuously aim to succeed and help my team. My determined nature comes from the love I feel for this institution and all it stands for."

Vinicius signed for Madrid from Brazil in 2018 for a significant fee and has scored triple figures in numerous matches.

But his career in the Spanish capital is far from certain with speculation in lately indicating that Los Blancos would contemplate permitting the young star depart if they were to receive a suitable offer.

When the winger was substituted on the match day, TV coverage from broadcaster the service captured him remarking: "Again me! I'm departing the side! It's better if I leave, I'm moving on."

In his new message on the platform, Vinicius commented: "I vow to keep fighting every second for the welfare of Los Blancos, as I have done since the very beginning."
